Ukraine and NATO will continue to strengthen security and stability in the Black Sea region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He stated this during a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Kyiv on Thursday, October 31, the press service of the head of state reported.

“We will also continue to jointly strengthen security and stability in the Black Sea region. We will increase information exchange, develop communication lines and intensify joint training events,” the president noted.

Zelensky thanked the Alliance for its assistance in building up the capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy, in particular for its naval base. "This is our priority and practical contribution to the security of the Black Sea region," he said.

The president also thanked NATO for the opportunity to train Ukrainian cadets and sailors on the ships of the Alliance. “We believe in the further support for the Ukrainian Navy by the Alliance,” Zelensky emphasized.
