The visit of NATO’s North Atlantic Council to Ukraine is an important signal and a desire of the Allies’ ambassadors to understand the situation on the Black Sea.

"The visit of NATO’s North Atlantic Council is an important signal and a desire of the Allies’ ambassadors to understand the situation on the Black Sea. The Black Sea security is a topic of NATO's visit to Ukraine this year. Getting assistance in the Black Sea direction is a priority for us now,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine posted on its Telegram channel.

As noted, a visit to Ukraine will allow ambassadors to get a clear picture and to approve, for example, an assistance package to Ukraine offered by the Alliance, called the "Black Sea Package."

"Each member state of the Alliance adds its vision, its capabilities, its financial contributions, its training and more. It is important for the Alliance to see what is happening. Particularly important in this context are meetings with government, the Armed Forces, and security organizations which are most interesting and critical for the Alliance," the Foreign Ministry added.

The North Atlantic Council will make a visit to Ukraine on October 30-31 at the invitation of the Ukrainian authorities. The visit will start in Odesa on October 30, where NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and NATO ambassadors are going to visit the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2).

The visit will continue on October 31 in Kyiv, where a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission is scheduled with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The NATO Secretary General will also deliver an address in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
