Ukraine, Japan to deepen cybersecurity and environmental cooperation

Ukraine and Japan are ready for further development of bilateral relations and plan to deepen cybersecurity and environmental cooperation.

This was discussed during the meeting of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai, the Council’s press service reports.

“Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai... The parties exchanged views on the development of the security situation in global and regional dimensions, discussed the most pressing issues of the bilateral agenda and agreed on further steps. The possibilities of deepening cybersecurity and environmental cooperation between Ukraine and Japan were touched upon,” the statement reads.

Danilov thanked Japan for its consistent policy of support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and expressed confidence that President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Japan would be another important step in deepening the dialogue between the two countries.

In turn, Takashi Kurai expressed support for security and defense reforms and noted that Japan was interested in furthering bilateral cooperation.
