President appoints commissioner for control over SBU activities

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Roman Semenchenko as presidential commissioner for control over activities of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

The relevant decree, No.744/2019, has been published on the president’s website.

“To appoint Roman Semenchenko as commissioner of the president of Ukraine for control over the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine,” reads the document.

From September 2013 to March 2014, Roman Semenchenko headed the SBU department in Zhytomyr region.

Prior to his appointment in Zhytomyr region, he worked as deputy head of the SBU department in Dnipropetrovsk region.
