Bohdan will resign if he breaks law - Zelensky

Ukrinform
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Bohdan will step down from his post if he breaks the law.

Zelensky said this during an all-day "media marathon" in Kyiv on October 10, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"He will resign himself if he breaks the law," Zelensky said when asked whether he would dismiss Bohdan if journalists prove that he violated the law.

At the same time, the president called for deciding on what principle employees should be laid off.

"I need professional people who do not violate Ukrainian and international law. I need these powerful people. I don't have many. Now is a very difficult period in my team," Zelensky said.

He added that it is a "very difficult" period for Bohdan today, because "he is influenced, starting by Mr. Kolomoisky, that he is there with him, that he solves his problems."

"This is the past. Now he [Bohdan] works for the state. He is a professional and powerful man," Zelensky said.
