Ukraine should demand OSCE immediately recall Sajdik – Chubarov

The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, has said that Ukraine should demand that Ambassador Martin Sajdik be immediately recalled from the post of the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group.

Chubarov wrote this on his Facebook page, while commenting on Sajdik's speech at the Salzburg Europe Summit in Austria.

"Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas Settlement Martin Sajdik at an international forum in Salzburg not only refused to express his position on Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea but also made subjective historical insights justifying Russia's purported illegal annexation of Crimea," Chubarov said.

According to him, Sajdik is one of the international officials whose task is to justify Russia's crimes against Ukraine.

"Simply put, no matter what 'formula' Ukraine proposes at international negotiations with Russia, we will sustain a defeat with such mediators as Martin Sajdik," Chubarov said.

In his opinion, Ukraine should demand that the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office immediately withdraw Sajdik from the post.

The Salzburg Europe Summit, organized by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE), took place on October 6-8.
