A delegation of the United States Congress has assured Ukraine of the full support for its territorial integrity and independence.

Congressman John Garamendi, Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee within the House Armed Services Committee, said this during a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk in Kyiv on Friday, October 4, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.

"The delegation in Kyiv consists of both Republicans and Democrats. There are representatives of the House Armed Services Committee and other important committees. We arrived in Ukraine to send an important clear message together - the United States supports Ukraine. The U.S. Congress supports your country's efforts in confronting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation," the congressman noted.

According to him, the congressmen want to understand the needs in order to complete the formation of budget proposals, which will include support for Ukraine and its Armed Forces.

In addition, the U.S. congressmen stressed the need for further dialogue and cooperation with the Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As reported, on October 3, the U.S. Department of State adopted a decision on the possible sale to Ukraine of 150 Javelin missiles and related equipment and support for an estimated cost not to exceed $39.2 million.
