Ukraine, Belarus have 120 cooperation agreements - Lukashenko
He stated this during the final part of the Second Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Zhytomyr on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We are ready to thoroughly study the proposals for intensifying bilateral cooperation. I am convinced that our first meeting and personal acquaintance will be a great step towards strengthening and developing long-standing relations between the states. [...] There are currently 120 cooperation agreements between the regions, districts, and cities of our countries. They will help ensure the development of economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian ties on a permanent basis," Lukashenko said.
He noted that the scale of this cooperation had helped hold the First Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Gomel in 2018.
"This dialogue resulted in commercial contracts and agreements worth more than $100 million, and this forum brought [contracts for] more than half a billion dollars," he said.
Lukashenko also suggested holding such a forum annually.
The two-day Second Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus began in Zhytomyr on October 3.
A plenary meeting of the forum was held with the participation of the two countries' presidents on October 4.
