Ukrainian president, Norwegian prime minister agree to invest in Donbas restoration
The parties stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of interaction between the two countries.
The head of state thanked Norway for its continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The sides agreed to work on attracting Norwegian investors to infrastructure and humanitarian projects to restore Donbas.
Erna Solberg noted that the Norwegian business was considerably interested in Ukraine amid reports of increased transparency of work and anti-corruption initiatives. "We will reform our law enforcement agencies, we will have privatization, we will carry out reforms that will help overcome corruption," Zelensky assured.
The head of state stressed the importance of support in the energy sector.
“We would be glad to invite you to gas production. We have fields, but we lack the necessary technologies. It is not just a business interest, it is a geopolitical issue,” the president emphasized.
The parties also discussed the development of alternative energy.
The Ukrainian president informed the Norwegian prime minister of the situation in Donbas. At the end of the meeting, Solberg presented Zelensky with a football depicting the Sustainable Development Goals.
