Danylyuk expects Zelensky-Trump meeting to be productive

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk said this on the sidelines of the 16th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"For us, the United States is a strategic partner. It supports Ukraine in carrying out reforms and strengthening the defense and security sectors. The United States is one of the most important partners of Ukraine. The issue of stabilization of the situation in eastern Ukraine will be discussed by the presidents," he said.

Danylyuk adds that the Ukrainian side expects a productive meeting with Trump, during which the parties will discuss a whole list of issues that are important for our bilateral cooperation.

Earlier, at the 16th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he expected his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in September.
