Ukraine preparing new lists of prisoners and waiting for next exchange

He said this during a speech at the 16th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“On September 2, representatives of four countries held a meeting in the “Normandy format”. They discussed the whole course of action to put an end to the war and return prisoners. Now we are talking about another stage. After the release of our political prisoners and sailors, we are preparing new lists and are waiting for the next stage of a prisoner exchange. We will also agree on these issues in Minsk and at the Normandy meeting,” Zelensky said.

As for the disengagement of forces, the president said that this was a very sensitive issue.

“We disengaged troops in Stanytsia Luhanska; there is no shooting. We have started to build a bridge there. From a humanitarian point of view, that is very correct. The next stage, according to the Minsk agreements, is the disengagement of forces in Petrivske and Zolote. I think that we will resolve this issue in the coming weeks,” Zelensky said.

He also said that a meeting of the leaders of the four countries in the "Normandy format" was expected by the end of September.
