The European Solidarity party has officially joined the largest and the most influential political family of the united Europe - the European People’s Party, according to the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.

"European Solidarity has officially joined the largest and the most influential political family of the United Europe - the European People’s Party. The EPP has just approved a positive decision. It is a recognition of the success of five years of reforms, which were implemented by our team. It is a mandate of trust to European Solidarity as pro-European Ukrainian party," Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page.

At the same time, Poroshenko added that "accession to the EPP is not only our internal party issue but a signal of recognition of European aspirations of Ukraine, our wish to join the EU and the NATO." Only membership in these two unions can guarantee peace and security to Ukraine.

"The European People’s Party stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine in our struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The new format of cooperation gives us new instruments to promote European and Euro-Atlantic choice of Ukraine," the politician added.
