Crimean filmmaker Oleg Sentsov currently stays in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow.

This was announced by Akhtem Chiygoz, the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the newly elected member of the Parliament from the European Solidarity Party.

“Yes, Oleg Sentsov is in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. To my knowledge, they have to arrive on Friday... All together. But this is very preliminary information because I made that way myself and I know that there can be changes. But the fact is that they are already there, the issue is raised and will be settled," Chiygoz told journalists, commenting on media reports about Oleg Sentsov's transfer to Moscow.

Russia's Nezygar and Baza Telegram channels report that Sentsov was transferred from the penal colony No. 8 in Labytnangi town in Russia yesterday afternoon with reference to a source in the special unit of the colony.

Earlier, the media reported that Russia and Ukraine agreed on prisoner swap in “33 to 33” format. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said he hoped for the "first results" regarding the exchange of detained persons between Ukraine and Russia in the near future.

The day before, press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine Larysa Sarhan wrote on Facebook that RIA Novosti Ukraine editor-in-chief Kirill Vyshinsky had been released from custody in Kyiv in view of preparations for the prisoner swap in the format of 35 to 35.

Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov and activist Oleksandr Kolchenko were detained in Crimea on May 10, 2014. Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in prison and Kolchenko to 10 years on trumped-up charges of plotting terrorist attacks. Both deny their guilt.
