Cabinet approves appointment of former Warsaw mayor as Ukraine’s business ombudsman

The Ukrainian government has approved a decision of the Supervisory Board of the Business Ombudsman Council on the election of former mayor of Warsaw, member of the Polish parliament, Marcin Swiecicki as new business ombudsman.

The relevant resolution, No.652-r as of August 21, has been posted on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“To approve the decision of the Supervisory Board of the Business Ombudsman Council as of July 30, 2019 on the election of Marcin Swiecicki as business ombudsman,” reads the document.

The resolution comes into force on October 12, 2019.

In February 2019, Business Ombudsman Algirdas Semeta announced his decision not to renew the contract, which expires in May 2019, but then agreed to remain in office until October 2019.
