Jagland congratulates Zelensky, his party on election victory

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland has congratulated the Servant of the People party, headed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on its victory in Ukraine's snap parliamentary elections on July 21.
"Bravo to President Zelenskiy and his party Sluga Narodu. Election creates new hope for Ukraine. Non-corrupted institutions which people can trust is the way forward to a sovereign Ukrainian state," Jagland wrote on Twitter on Monday, July 22.
Earlier, the EU also congratulated Zelensky's party on its victory in elections to the Verkhovna Rada, stressing that the new Ukrainian authorities now assume responsibility for everything that is happening in Ukraine. In addition, the European Union drew attention to a number of areas in which reforms must be carried out, first and foremost, furthering the rule of law, fight against corruption, energy and macro-economic stability.
