Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects that a new Moldovan government will continue to support the sovereignty of Ukraine, and assures of full support of the territorial integrity of Moldova.

He said this during a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu in Kyiv on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The government and parliament of Moldova have always supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We hope that the new government of Moldova will continue to support us,” Zelensky said.

At the same time, he assured that Ukraine would continue to provide full support for the territorial integrity of Moldova and actively participate in the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement.

"Ukraine and Moldova have a common desire - there should be no Russian troops in our territories. Also, we will not allow anyone to peddle plans for the so-called federalization. As for the protection of the sovereignty of our states and security in the region, our positions are common,” Zelensky noted.

In turn, Maia Sandu assured that Moldova fully supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
