EU to lift Russia sanctions when Minsk accords implemented – Tusk

Sanctions against Russia will not be lifted until the Minsk agreements are implemented.

President of the European Council Donald Tusk stated this on the results of the 21st EU-Ukraine summit held in Kyiv on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“A few days ago, the EU extended economic sanctions against Russia for another six months. Sanctions will remain in force until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented,” he said.

Tusk also reaffirmed the EU’s steadfast support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“We will never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia,” he stressed.
