The Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy will develop a bill that will make it impossible to hold a TV link-up between Ukraine’s NewsOne and Russia’s state-owned channel Russia 24.

Speaker Andriy Parubiy stated this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We have agreed with the Committee on Freedom of Speech that a bill will be developed, which will make it impossible to hold a TV link-up between Ukraine and aggressor country Russia," he said.

The speaker has also added that he hopes that during the consideration of this bill in the VR session hall on Thursday, all MPs will attend the meeting so that to support the document.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine's television channel NewsOne, which belongs to Taras Kozak, an ally of Viktor Medvedchuk, and Russian state-owned channel Russia 24, are to hold a TV link-up entitled "Need to Talk." TV host Dmitry Kiselyov announced this during the Vesti Nedeli (News of the Week) program.
