Draft Electoral Code to be represented in VR on July 8

Speaker Andriy Parubiy stated this at a parliament’s meeting on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Parubiy reminded that the number of amendments to the Electoral Code is the largest of all draft laws considered by the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation.

"I am convinced that this is not only the responsibility of the current parliament, it is our responsibility to the future of our successors before the upcoming convocations of the Verkhovna Rada. It depends on us which political structure Ukraine will have tomorrow," Parubiy said.

The speaker urged everyone to study the bill and hold discussions.

As reported, on May 29, 2019, the special parliamentary committee recommended that the Verkhovna Rada consider the draft Electoral Code at the second reading.

On June 6, MPs started the consideration of the draft Electoral Code (No.3112-1) at the second reading.

As of June 20, MPs considered 1,530 out of 4,568 amendments submitted to the draft Electoral Code.
