The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered former MP from the Party of Regions and former head of the ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s administration, Andriy Klyuyev, as a candidate in Ukraine’s snap parliamentary elections scheduled for July 21.
The relevant decision was approved at a CEC meeting on Tuesday to fulfill the ruling by the Supreme Court, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Thus, in pursuance of the Supreme Court’s ruling as of June 30, the Central Election Commission registered Andriy Klyuyev as a candidate for parliament from single-member constituency No. 46 (Donetsk region).
As Ukrinform reported, on June 23, the Central Election Commission refused to register Andriy Klyuyev as a candidate in Ukraine’s snap parliamentary elections.
On July 1, the Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court ordered the CEC to again consider the documents on the registration of Andriy Klyuyev as a candidate for parliament.
