Zelensky renews National Anti-Corruption Policy Council

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has renewed the composition of the National Council on Anti-Corruption Policy.

This is stipulated in the presidential decree "Issues of the National Anti-Corruption Policy Council" signed on June 25, the press service of the head of state has reported.

"The National Council includes representatives of expert NGOs, business associations, heads of anticorruption and other specialized agencies. In particular, the leaders of Transparency International Ukraine, European Business Association, American Chamber of Commerce, public organizations, Center for Combating Corruption and Center for Political and Legal Reforms will work in the Council," reads the statement.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka chaired the Council.

For the first time, the official status of observers in the Council was received by representatives of international organizations and diplomatic institutions that provide assistance to Ukraine in combating corruption. Thus, representatives of the World Bank, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations Development Program, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine became observers in the Council.

"The National Anti-Corruption Policy Council will be the center of developing anti-corruption solutions. We will respond promptly to the drawbacks of anti-corruption legislation or institutions and initiate appropriate decisions. The Council should also coordinate the work of the state bodies and non-governmental organizations in achieving results in the fight against corruption expected by society. Unfortunately, the previous composition of the Council has not met for almost three years. Our first meeting will be held in the near future," Riaboshapka said.
