Speaker Parubiy hopes next parliament to continue security sector reform

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy hopes that the Parliament of the next convocation will continue to reform the security sector.

The speaker said this during a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Inter-Parliamentary Council in Lviv on Monday, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada reports.

“I hope that the next Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will faithfully work on the security sector reform, and the adoption and implementation of the laws that have been already developed and are being prepared by the MPs,” Parubiy said.

According to the speaker, the North Atlantic Alliance is the most effective security system that will help Ukraine resist the Russian aggression. That’s why Ukraine is carrying out reforms that will enable it to become a member of NATO as soon as possible, bring the Ukrainian economy closer to the European standards, and the security sector of Ukraine - to the standards of the Alliance.
