Czech Republic condemns Russia’s ‘passportization’ of occupied Donbas – ambassador

Ukrinform
The Czech Foreign Ministry has condemned the Kremlin's decision to issue Russian passports to Ukrainians living in the occupied Donbas.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebyinis informed this on Twitter on Monday.

"Czech Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček said following the results of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting that the Czech Republic condemned the decision of the Russian Federation to issue passports to Ukrainian citizens who live in Donbas. This violates the sovereignty of Ukraine and the Minsk agreement. The EU’s failure to recognize these passports would be the right step,” the report says.

As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to provide the residents of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the right to acquire Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure.
