President appoints head of Foreign Intelligence Service

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Vladyslav Bukharev head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ruslan Riaboshapka said this at a briefing on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"A decree has been signed on the appointment of the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. Vladyslav Bukharev has been appointed to the post," he said.

Bukharev was born in the town of Lebedyn, Sumy region, on March 14, 1969. He is a people's deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation (the Batkivshchyna faction), former first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine and head of the main directorate for combating corruption and organized crime of the central directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.
