Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he expects that the Ukraine-EU summit, to be held in Kyiv on July 8, will give a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
He stated this during a joint press conference with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels on Wednesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We had an opportunity to exchange views on a strategic vision of Ukraine-EU relations, as well as urgent short-term priorities, because on July 8 this year I will be glad to welcome you [Tusk] and all of our European partners to Ukraine and to the Ukraine-EU summit. This will be an important opportunity to give a new powerful impetus to the development of our relations," Zelensky said.
Zelensky stays in Brussels on June 4-5 on his first foreign visit as president of Ukraine.
