Speaker Parubiy congratulates European Parliament on results of elections

"On Sunday, there were elections to the European Parliament, and contrary to pessimistic forecasts, the political forces, which advocate the unity of Europe and support Ukraine in confronting Russia, have won. We congratulate our European allies on these elections," Parubiy said at a parliament meeting on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The speaker also congratulated the political partners of Ukraine, the Lithuanian Christian Democrats Party led by Andrius Kubilius, on winning the elections in Lithuania.

"Let me remind you that Mr Kubilius is the author of a new European plan for Ukraine, the program of comprehensive financial assistance for our state," Parubiy said.

As reported, elections to the European Parliament were held in the EU member states on May 23-26.
