Zelensky, Merkel agree on first steps to restore peace in Donbas

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
The parties discussed the first measures in support of an active political dialogue at the high level, the president's press service reported.
Particular attention was paid to the developments in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Angela Merkel confirmed mutual interest in activating efforts to return peace to Donbas, inter alia, in the framework of the Normandy format. The first joint steps in this direction were coordinated.
The president is planning to hold a phone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron shortly.
