Marchuk leaves Minsk Contact Group

Ukrinform
Ukraine’s representative in the Trilateral Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas Yevhen Marchuk has announced that he ceased participation in the Minsk talks.

“On May 19, 2019, I ceased my four-year volunteering activities in the Minsk process,” he wrote on Facebook.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appointed Yevhen Marchuk as representative of Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the settlement of the conflict in Donbas in late November 2018 after ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma completed his work in the TCG.

Prior to that, Marchuk represented Ukraine in the security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group.
