Canada will continue to work closely with the Government of Ukraine to advance reform agenda and in defence of Ukraine’s sovereignty.

“Canada is committed to supporting the people of Ukraine. We will continue to work closely with the Government of Ukraine to advance its reform agenda and in defence of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland said, announcing her visit to Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

She also underscored the importance of continued international support for Ukraine. “Now is a key moment when Canada’s support, and the support of the international community, is of tremendous importance,” the diplomat noted.

Chrystia Freeland will make a visit to Ukraine on May 8. She will meet with President Petro Poroshenko, president-elect Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, to discuss Canada’s support for the people of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
