“Canada and Norway are partners in the Arctic, and also in the Elsie Initiative and in the defence of the international rules-based order. It was great to meet again with my friend Ine Eriksen Soreide to discuss the Arctic, climate change, and the Ukraine Reform Conference,” Freeland wrote on Twitter.
On the margins of the Arctic Council, the Canadian foreign minister also spoke with her counterpart from Sweden, Margot Wallström, about the Arctic and climate change, as well as the Ukraine Reform Conference, Venezuela, feminist foreign policy and disarmament.
As a reminder, in early July, Toronto will host the third Ukraine Reform Conference. In 2018, the conference was held in Copenhagen, and in 2017 - in London. The main purpose of the conference is to familiarize international partners with the achievements of Ukraine in carrying out systemic reforms, as well as to determine further areas of cooperation and practical assistance to Ukraine on this path.
