State border remains one common thing between Ukraine and Russia after Crimea, Donbas — Zelensky

Ukraine's President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky wrote this on his Facebook page.

“I have been thinking about “much in common“ between Ukraine and Russia. The reality is that today, after the annexation of Crimea and the aggression in Donbas, we have only one thing in common - the state border. 2,295km and 400m of "common" feature. And Russia must return control over every mm to the Ukrainian side. After that, we will be able to continue the search for "common" things,“ he wrote.

The president-elect also commented on the latest decisions of the Russian authorities in relation to Ukraine, which do not bring the settlement of relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

“A ban on the export of petroleum products, the opening of centers that issue passports to Ukrainian citizens living in the occupied territories of Donbas, the illegal detention of Ukrainians and keeping them in captivity do not contribute to the settlement of relations between our countries. And it’s impossible to call such relations as “fraternal”,” Zelensky said.

As reported, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the final results of Ukraine's presidential election at a meeting on April 30. According to the results of the runoff election, Volodymyr Zelensky won the presidential election, as 73.22% of voters or 13.541,528 Ukrainian citizens voted for him. 24.45% of voters or 4.522,450 Ukrainian citizens cast their votes for incumbent President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

According to the Ukrainian legislation, the inauguration ceremony is to be held no later than 30 days after the date of the official announcement of the results by the CEC.
