The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the law on the ratification of a framework agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France on the official support of the project on drinking water supply in Mariupol.

A total of 258 MPs voted for the document, with at least 226 votes required to make the decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The relevant framework agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France was signed on January 29, 2019.

The agreement provides for the government of France to allocate EUR 64 million to support the investment project on drinking water in the city of Mariupol with the participation of the Mariupol City Council. This project corresponds to the priorities of the government of Ukraine and the needs of population affected as a result of the conflict in Donbas.
