Volker thanks Poroshenko for commitment to democracy

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has thanked incumbent President Petro Poroshenko for his leadership in a difficult time and for his commitment to democracy.
“We commend Poroshenko for his courage in leading Ukraine through a tremendously difficult time and for his commitment to the democratic institutions of Ukraine and for accepting the will of the Ukrainian people,” he wrote on Twitter.
As reported, the second round of Ukraine’s presidential elections was held on Sunday, April 21. According to the National Exit Poll, Volodymyr Zelensky won 73% of the vote, and Petro Poroshenko got 25.5%.
