Poroshenko reveals details of his talks with Merkel and Macron

President Poroshenko stated this in an interview with the Ukraine TV channel on April 14, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

At the same time, President Poroshenko stressed that the main issue during the talks was bringing peace to Ukraine: "This is the key thing we talked about with Macron and Merkel.”  

"The second position is development: development of economic cooperation, development of our support in the international arena, prolongation of sanctions if Putin does not react and does not demonstrate progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. And separately - the development of the Azov-Black Sea basin, the development of Donbas. Money - when transport infrastructure will be built, as well as electrification of railways, infrastructure of ports. And we have agreed on this with the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany. Peace, economic development and care for people," Poroshenko stressed.

As reported, during meetings of President Poroshenko with Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron on Friday, the key topic was establishing peace in Ukraine.

During a joint briefing with Merkel in Berlin on April 12, Poroshenko said he would initiate a summit in the Norman format after the second round of the Ukrainian presidential elections on April 21.
