Poroshenko has medical tests taken by VADA: This is an important procedure
He said this at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex on Wednesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"As far as I understand, Volodymyr Zelensky did not arrive here. First and foremost, I want to support the appeal of Mr. Wladimir Klitschko and others that this is not just a whim, but an absolutely necessary and important procedure so that our nation with a population of 45 million people could have a firm conviction and confidence that the president and supreme commander-in-chief of our country cannot be a person who has drug or alcohol addition," Poroshenko said.
He also continued: "I do not assert that Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky is a drug addict, but there are absolutely transparent procedures of the highest authority of international experts which must prove not only to the Ukrainian people but also to the whole world that a candidate who claims to be president is not a drug addict."
According to Poroshenko, ignoring this is a matter of risk and threat.
Earlier, former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko called on Ukrainian presidential candidates Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelensky to arrive at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium between 15:00 and 18:00 on Wednesday, April 10, to have medical tests taken by VADA experts.
At the same time, Zelensky's campaign headquarters stated that he would not undergo medical tests for VADA representatives.
The second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine will be held on April 21.
