Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatoviс has said she is planning to visit Ukraine after the presidential elections.

She stated this on Monday when asked by delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe about her possible trips to Ukraine, own correspondent Ukrinform in Strasbourg reported.

“I’m planning to visit Ukraine after the elections. It is not customary for the Commissioner to visit member countries before or during the elections,” the Commissioner said.

Mijatoviс also added that her opinion on the need to postpone the consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of the law on the Ukrainian language for the period after the presidential elections remains unchanged.

The Commissioner also said she hopes for cooperation with the Ukrainian leadership on "linguistic" and other relevant issues.

As Ukrinform reported, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatoviс was on an official visit to Moscow on April 1-5.
