Ukraine will not change its foreign policy focus on the accession to the EU and NATO whoever the next president is.

"Ukraine will continue its drive towards the transatlantic community towards NATO, towards the European Union. There could be some differences in time-frames and tactics but in the sense of strategy, it is decided 100 percent," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in an interview with CNBC.

According to Klimkin, Ukraine will not turn to Moscow after the presidential runoff as the Ukrainian society will not allow that.

“I am pretty sure there would be no U-turn, or left turn or right turn on foreign policy. Ukrainian society would not allow anybody to get from the mainstream of Ukrainian foreign policy orientation and it’s about going to the EU and NATO,” he said.

The first round of presidential elections in Ukraine took place on March 31. According to the results of counting 98.03% of electronic voting protocols, showman Volodymyr Zelensky and incumbent president Petro Poroshenko make it to runoff.
