The Council of Europe demands that Russia de-occupy the Ukrainian Crimea.

Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Finnish Foreign Minister Mr Timo Soini said this in a statement today, Ukrinform's correspondent reported from France.

"This week marks the 5th anniversary of the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation. I would like to recall the Committee of Ministers’ condemnation of the annexation, which constitutes a violation of international law," he stressed.

Timo Soini noted that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe fully supported the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
