Poroshenko signs amendments to state budget for 2019
"The document as of February 28, 2019, No.2696-VIII, specifies the volume of interbudgetary transfers in the context of local budgets, due to the cancellation of elections in united territorial communities and additional local elections because of the introduction of martial law in some regions," reads the report posted on the president’s website.
It is noted that the signed document creates conditions for increasing financial opportunities of local budgets and ensures the effective and targeted use of state budget funds in the current year.
On February 28, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the state budget for 2019. This need arose because the local elections scheduled for December 23, 2019 in 45 territorial communities and additional local elections of deputies were canceled due to the introduction of martial law in some regions of Ukraine.
On November 26, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law approving the presidential decree on the introduction of martial law for 30 days in ten regions of Ukraine due to Russian aggression in the Sea of Azov.
