U.S. Under Secretary of State: Presidential election is key test for Ukraine

The United States of America supports the people of Ukraine, not a concrete presidential candidate, in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for March 31.
"The upcoming elections are key. America supports the people of Ukraine and democratic process, not any particular candidate. This will be a key test of Ukraine's democratic progress and development. We expect free and fair elections," U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale said at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At the same time, the U.S. Under Secretary of State assured that the United States would continue to work with Ukrainians after the election to further develop strategic relations.
