Deputy FM Zerkal in Brussels to discuss gas transit after 2019

“On March 5, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister for European Integration Olena Zerkal will take part in a round table on the topic ‘Stockholm Arbitration and the Future of Gas Transit through the Territory of Ukraine,’ which will be held at the European Policy Center in Brussels,” the report says.

The Foreign Ministry reminded that the decisions issued by the Stockholm Arbitration in December 2017 and February 2018 changed the energy map of Europe, and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine passed a unique way of protecting Ukraine’s energy security from aggression and manipulations from the side of the Russian largest gas monopoly. These decisions will determine the legal framework of gas supply and transit contracts in Europe in the medium term, the Foreign Ministry stated.

The Foreign Ministry also added that former Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, the leadership of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission Energy, representatives of the Support Group of Ukraine in the European Commission, the European Energy Community, the US Department of State, and key energy experts will take part in the discussion.
