A special project of the European Union in support of security in the Sea of Azov area due to Russia’s aggression provides for the allocation of EUR 50 million.

President Petro Poroshenko said this during a meeting of the Odesa Regional Development Council on Saturday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"A special project worth EUR 50 million will provide support for the Sea of Azov coast, Mariupol, Berdyansk, as well as the Black Sea coast," Poroshenko said.

According to the president, the issue of financial assistance is raised at every meeting with the leadership of the European Union. “Unfortunately, this happens due to the aggression of the Russian Federation in neutral waters of the Black Sea,” he said.

Poroshenko also noted that the number of European projects for Ukraine would increase if the state continued to move in the European direction.
