US Congressman: United States committed to support Ukraine

U.S. Congressman from the Republican Party Brian Fitzpartrick expressed such a stance on the sidelines of the 10th United States – Ukraine Security Dialogue in Washington on Thursday.

 “We need to provide strong financial support for Ukraine in the context of the situation in Donbas, the situation in Crimea,” the Congressman said, answering the question of an Ukrinform correspondent about how the United States plans to organize support for Ukraine this year.

According to him, this support also provides for bilateral cooperation in various fields, in particular, the exchange of the intelligence information about the military situation in the region, cyber security interaction. Fitzpartrick noted that the US Congress had already launched a number of legislative initiatives aimed at enhancing cyber security, including the Ukraine Cybersecurity Cooperation Act.

The Congressman also reminded about the registered Crimea Annexation Non-recognition Act (H. R.596). “It stipulates that no federal agency or US government agency can take any action or support efforts to recognize the de jure sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea and the territorial waters,” Brian Fitzpatrick said.
