Moldova does not recognize Crimea’s annexation – Foreign Ministry

The Republic of Moldova does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and supports Ukraine’s efforts to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Tatiana Molchan stated this during a debate at the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Ukrinform’s correspondent in Moldova reported.

"The Republic of Moldova calls on the Russian Federation to stop destabilizing activities in the region and to observe the fundamental principles and norms of international law in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and on the unconditional withdrawal of its troops and weapons from the territory of the Republic of Moldova," the diplomat said.

She stressed that the Republic of Moldova confirmed its support for Ukraine’s efforts to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state.

As reported, Moldova delegated 40 citizens to participate in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
