Kyiv mayor to attend Munich Security Conference

Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko will participate in the 55th Munich Security Conference which will take place on February 15-17, his press service has reported.

"The key topics of this year's conference, which will bring together unprecedented number of international decision-makers, are the European Union's self-assertion, future of transatlantic cooperation, as well as possible consequences of a new era of great power competition, the future of arms control and cooperation in defence policy," the report says.

Klitschko will attend the opening ceremony of the Munich Security Conference, meet the leading politicians and business leaders, including EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank Kristalina Georgieva, Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter and others.

Klitschko will also attend a lunch hosted by Yalta European Strategy, where the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections and the most crucial challenges of Ukraine will be discussed.
