Ukrainian President, Vice-President of China agree on trade, economic and investment cooperation

The meeting was held within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the press service of the President reports.

"The parties agreed to continue the development of bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation. It should be facilitated by holding a regular meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in 2019," the statement reads.

In addition, the parties discussed Ukraine's participation in China's initiative "One Belt, One Road."

It is noted that the President of Ukraine also praised the traditionally friendly nature of the relations between Ukraine and China, which are based on the principles of mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries.

According to the Administration of the President of Ukraine, the Vice President of the People's Republic of China confirmed the unwavering support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

An increase in the level of trust and mutual understanding that underpins the strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries was also emphasized.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko makes a working visit to Davos, Switzerland, on January 23-24, where he holds a series of bilateral meetings and will chair the meeting of the National Investment Council.
