Law on budget planning published in parliamentary newspaper

The Law "On Amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine (regarding the legal basis for the introduction of medium-term budget planning)" was published in the official parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy on January 11.
According to the text of the document, the law comes into effect on January 1, 2019.
According to an explanatory note, the law was developed in order to create the legal basis for the introduction of medium-term budget planning, the further development of the program-target method, as well as the improvement of certain norms of the Budget Code of Ukraine, which regulate relations arising in the process of budget execution, reporting on their implementation, and control over the observance of budget legislation, as well as responsibility for violations of budget legislation.
As reported, the law was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on December 6, 2018. President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on January 8, 2019.
