Poland to recall ambassador from Ukraine

Current Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Pieklo will be recalled from his post on January 31, according to a respective presidential decree published in Poland's Monitor Polski on December 19.

"On the basis of Article 133 of the Constitution of Poland, dated April 2, 1997, I am recalling Jan Pieklo from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine from January 31, 2019," reads the presidential decree, dated December 4.

Pieklo has served as Poland's ambassador to Ukraine since October 2016. Before his appointment as ambassador to Ukraine, he worked as executive director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI in Warsaw.
