Ukraine, Israel to sign FTA agreement in late January – Ambassador

The governments of Israel and Ukraine will sign the Free Trade Area (FTA) Agreement at the end of January 2019.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lion stated this at a meeting of the Open World Discussion Club, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"As of today, the date [to sign the FTA agreement] is the third week of January," he said.

The Ambassador also expressed hope that the signing of the document will take place during the official visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Israel.

On December 17, President Petro Poroshenko said he intends to visit Israel in January 2019 to sign the FTA Agreement.
