Mogherini: EU supports ambitious plans of Ukraine
“A sign of importance of the energy issues was that Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič joined us during the first session today. We exchanged views on continuation of the reforms in the gas and electricity markets to ensure their reliability and performance and welcomed the progress in implementation of the Association Agreement’s annex on the energy, which reflects effective EU legislation,” High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said at a press conference following the 5th Association Council meeting between the EU and Ukraine.
She noted that the parties had intensified cooperation in the field of justice and home affairs within the framework of the Association Agreement.
“We focused on the areas where tangible results could be achieved, in particular, the integrated border management. It was agreed to carry out an assessment of the state-of-play of Ukraine's digital economy in order to support its legislative approximation with the EU acquis,” Mogherini noted.
